Nicolas Bougaïeff returns with ‘Concrete Love’, a solid cut of hard-edged techno grooves with a quintessential Bougaïeff shrieking hook at its peak.

The Berlin-based Canadian artist drops this intense driving techno roller after spending several years focused on musical experiments. This is the first track from his upcoming EP1, which is the first instalment of a new digital EP series released on NovaMute. The track evokes a feeling somewhere between a late 90s warehouse party and a Berlin vortex of industrial grooves. ‘Concrete Love’ starts off with a hard, full spectrum kick. Layers of sound were combined, compressed, and sublimated to create the kick: an overpowering four-to-the-floor full body experience. In true peak time fashion, ‘Concrete Love’ features one piercing tone at its core, a technique fans will recognise from Bougaïeff’s Cognitive Resonance. Boutique distortion pedals were harnessed to produce this tone, a sound designed to express a love for the freedom and experiences made possible in concrete techno spaces.
